Hello!

We’re Ayeesha and Hamish, the husband-and-wife team behind Aysh & Hamish. I’m the photographer and the person behind most of the emails. Hamish is our videographer and editor, and generally the calmer one of the two of us.

I studied documentary filmmaking because I’ve always been interested in real people and real experiences. At the same time, I’ve always loved fashion photography and creating strong, considered images. Weddings ended up bringing those two interests together. There’s fashion, design and plenty of room to be creative, but it’s also a real day with real people and moments you couldn’t plan if you tried. Looking back, it makes sense that I ended up here.

I photograph weddings the way a close friend would, from right in the middle of everything. I’ll fix your dress, let you know when the light is worth stepping outside for and give you direction when you need it. I won’t pull you away from your guests for hours or ask you to recreate something that has already happened.

A lot of our couples tell us they’re camera shy or worried they won’t know what to do. By the end of the day, they’re usually telling us how much fun they had taking photos. We’ll give you enough guidance that you never feel awkward or unsure, while still keeping everything natural and organic.

Hamish is funny, social and usually knows half the guests by the end of a wedding. He’s good at making people feel comfortable and stays calm when the day gets busy. He also edits our films, bringing together the footage, vows, speeches and sound from the day.

We’ve both worked as travel content creators for years and travel regularly throughout the year. We’re based in New Zealand and spend part of each year in Europe, but we’re always happy to travel further for a wedding and make a trip of it.

We also planned our own wedding in Tuscany, so we know how much work goes into a destination wedding and how quickly the day itself passes. Being on the other side of the process has definitely shaped the way we work with our couples.​
